During the SlingStudio setup, you are asked to register your unit. All that we require is your email address, but we recommend that you enter your name too so that if you call for support, the information is in our database.
When you connect your SlingStudio and CameraLink units, we collect the serial numbers. The next time your iPad or SlingStudio connects using Wi-Fi, the Console app transmits the device information and the installation date to our registration server. With this information, we can provide you with support without asking for proof of purchase.
If you register more than once, we only look at the first registration event.
