If you're not able to get the SlingStudio unit to work properly with the HDMI out port, such as while trying to display video on a TV or monitor, try these things:
- Remember that there must be at least one input in the Program window for the output show on the TV. If your video source is still showing only in Preview, tap/click Preview --> Program to push that preview video source to the program window. Once you do that, it should display on the HDMI out monitor now.
- Make sure you use mini-HDMI to HDMI cable from the SlingStudio to your TV/monitor.
- Even more importantly, make sure to use the mini-HDMI output port on the SlingStudio. The regular (Type A) HDMI port on the SlingStudio is for video input only, not for video output.
- Finally, check the HDMI OUT control (it's in the lower-left corner for the iPad Console app, and is one of the Shortcuts in the lower-right corner for the Mac Console). Depending on your other project settings and connected devices, this control offers these options:
- PROGRAM VIDEO
- HDMI PASSTHROUGH
- QUAD-VIEW
- OFF (NO VIDEO)
- SETTINGS
Make sure that the HDMI OUT control is set to either PROGRAM VIDEO or QUAD-VIEW VIDEO to get video output from the HDMI out port. If it is set to OFF (No video) you won't see anything via the HDMI out port.
