Mac Console: How do I apply a split screen to a project?

Looking to apply a split-screen effect to your SlingStudio project? Take a look here.

Using the SlingStudio Console app split screen feature lets you display two, three, or four video sources in one screen. You can also set up a classic picture-in-picture arrangement, in which you can position the secondary video image anywhere on the screen.

To use the split screen feature:

  1. Get your project ready to go, with all sources online:
    1. Launch SlingStudio Console app on your Mac.
    2. Tap a video source so that it appears in Preview.
    3. Move your Mac's trackpad pointer into the Preview window.
Three dots appear in the upper-right corner.
  2. Click the three dots icon.
  3. Choose Split Screen.
  4. Choose the split screen arrangement that you'd like:
    1. Whole screen (choose this, or click Cancel, if you want to back out)
    2. Two columns with one adjustable partition
    3. Three columns with two adjustable partitions
    4. Quadrant (not adjustable
    5. Picture-in-picture (PIP) with moveable PIP image
  5. Click the split-screen configuration that you'd like.
  6. Drag the partition(s) as you wish, or leave them as-is.
  7. For the picture-in-picture option, resize the PIP image as you wish, and then drag it to any location over the primary image.
  8. When you move your Mac's pointer over a panel, if there's no video source, you see the pointer has a plus sign. Click to add a video source.
If there is already a video source within a panel, you can click to remove it (and choose a different one).
  9. If you want to save your arrangement for future use, click to select Save split screen.
When you're all set, click OK.
The split screen arrangement that you've created displays in Preview. You can promote it to Program when you're ready.
