SlingStudio Products may contain links to other companies' or individuals' websites, platforms, devices, applications or services. This Policy does not apply to, and Sling is not responsible for: (i) the practices of any other companies or individuals, or (ii) any third party websites, platforms, devices, applications or services that you access via links from SlingStudio Products. You are responsible for reviewing the privacy policies of any other websites, platforms, devices, applications or services that you access from SlingStudio Products.
We do not intend that children will use SlingStudio Products. We do not solicit or knowingly collect information from children under 13 years old, nor will we knowingly accept registration from them.
We collect "Personal Data" (as defined in EU law), such as your name, postal address, telephone number, email address, credit card and payment information, and/or other information that can be used to identify you or contact you. For example, we may collect this information when you purchase or register a SlingStudio Product, register for a "SlingStudio Account", enter a sweepstakes or participate in promotions and giveaways. From time to time, we may offer features, services and promotional opportunities that require you to submit Personal Data to participate.
We also collect other information regarding your usage of SlingStudio Products, such as your IP address or Media Access Control (MAC) address, and the name you assigned to your SlingStudio Product, the hardware and firmware versions of your SlingStudio Product, the type of browser you use, the websites that you visit (and access credentials for video content sites, if you provide them to us to facilitate use of your SlingStudio Product), and the identity of your video content provider (if you provide it) ("Other Information"). We treat Other Information as Personal Data if it can be associated with you. We also anonymize Other Information and aggregate it with information of other users, in which case we treat it as "Anonymous Information" and not as Personal Data.
We use Personal Data that you provide us for such purposes as responding to your requests for information, products or services, customizing the advertising and content you see (including targeted advertisements), communicating with you about our offerings, and allowing you to participate in sweepstakes, promotions or giveaways. We also use Personal Data for billing and account management functions and to improving your overall customer experience.
Where you have provided us access credentials for one or more third party video content websites, we use those credentials solely for the purpose of logging in your SlingStudio Product to those sites to allow you to access the content on the sites.
We use Anonymous Information to determine how people use SlingStudio Products, including how often users click on our advertisements, which files are downloaded most frequently, and which components or areas of SlingStudio Products are the most popular. Analyzing this data allows us to improve the offerings on and performance of SlingStudio Products.
Supporting service providers. We sometimes use third parties to help with some aspects of the SlingStudio Products, such as delivering content, processing payments and providing marketing assistance. When we supply Personal Data to these third parties, we require them to use it only for the services they are providing. We do not sell SlingStudio Personal Data to third parties.
Aggregated information. We provide aggregated Anonymous Information to advertisers and other partners who are interested in the use and performance of SlingStudio Products, so that our partners also may provide you with an optimal user experience, better understand how users access the SlingStudio Products, and measure advertising effectiveness.
Legal matters. We may disclose Personal Data as required by law, or if in our judgment it is necessary to protect Sling or our employees or users from harm, loss or liability.
Merger or acquisition. If we merge with or are acquired by another company or we sell substantially all of our assets, the acquirer or resulting company will receive and may continue to use the information you have provided as described in this Policy. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any such acquirer or successor may continue to use your information as set forth in this Policy.
If you use our bulletin boards, blogs, post user comments through the SlingStudio Products, or engage in similar activity, please remember that anything you post is publicly available.
If at any time you decide that you do not want us to (i) send you information about our products and services (other than important service- and security-related messages), (ii) receive information from our partners and others about products and services that might interest you, (iii) share your information with advertisers and business partners, or (iv) otherwise use your information as set forth in this Policy, then you must send an email to: opt-out@MySlingStudio.com. In the subject line please state "Opt-Out" and provide your customer account information. We will keep track of your decision in our database.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting Sling customer support. Under EU law, you have rights (i) to request access to and rectification or erasure of your Personal Data and (ii) of data portability to other service providers.
We use technological and organizational measures to protect your Personal Data (and other information) from unauthorized disclosure, alteration or destruction. Communications sessions in which you give us information such as credit card numbers are encrypted using SSL or other technologies. We keep your Personal Data on servers that are protected by firewalls and other technological means against intrusion or unauthorized access, and are located in physically secure facilities. However, there are many security risks on the Internet, and we cannot guarantee the information you transmit to us will be 100% secure. We rely on you to select passwords that cannot be guessed easily, to protect those passwords, to use appropriate security software on your devices, and generally to engage in safe practices when using the Internet. Please contact us if you have any information regarding unauthorized use of SlingStudio Products.
Sling is based in the United States, and the information we collect will be transferred to, processed and stored in the United States. By accepting this Policy, and using SlingStudio Products or otherwise providing us with Personal Data, you authorize and consent to this transfer, processing and storage of your information in the United States, where privacy laws may not be as comprehensive as those in the country where you reside.
From time to time, we may revise this Policy to reflect changes in the law or SlingStudio Products or for other reasons. If we make any material change to this Policy, we will notify you by sending a notice to your email address. You will be bound by any changes to this Policy when you use SlingStudio Products after Sling has provided notice of such changes.
If you have any questions or complaints relating to this Policy, or Personal Data that Sling holds, please contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail at: Sling Media L.L.C., 1051 E Hillsdale Blvd, Suite 500, Foster City, CA 94404.
