What is the maximum length for an HDMI cable tethered to an HDMI source?

There is no maximum length defined. From an industry perspective, 50 feet is generally considered the maximum reliable HDMI length.

To extend the reach, we suggest you use SDI cables with SDI-to-HDMI or HDMI-to-SDI adapters. Some examples include:
