What resolution, bit rates, and encoding does SlingStudio support when broadcasting to YouTube Live?

Here are the specs for broadcasting to YouTube Live.

SlingStudio supports resolutions of 1080p60, 1080p30, 720p60, and 720p30. In broadcasting mode, the program bit rate is limited to a maximum of 8 Mbps for all resolutions. The minimum bit rate varies depending on the resolution:

  • 1080p60 : 8
  • 720p60 : 5
  • 1080p30 : 3
  • 720p30 : 1.5

However, when recording, the input bit rate can be different and much higher if needed. The table below shows the input bit rates for five different production modes of SlingStudio:

The encoding is H.264 for video and AAC for audio over RTMP to YouTube.
