Video quality with Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X models

Newer iPhone models may occasionally display jittery video.

These newer Apple iPhone models may occasionally display jittery video when used with the SlingStudio Capture app:

  • Apple iPhone 8
  • Apple iPhone 8 Plus
  • Apple iPhone X

The issue is intermittent, and seems to happen from that start of streaming. It doesn't tend to happen midway through a streaming session.

It may be more noticeable if you choose higher bit rate settings for your production in the SlingStudio Console app. If you can, consider lowering your project's bit rate settings to see if that helps.

Quitting the SlingStudio Capture app and restarting it does not seem to help.

Instead, try:

  • Putting the iPhone into Airplane Mode, then turning Airplane Mode off.
  • If that doesn't help, then try restarting the iPhone.
